Job Description

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit. As an RN in this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This position involves ensuring a seamless perioperative experience, including pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, post-procedure evaluation, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver care to patients using the nursing process.
• Monitor patients during surgical procedures and provide physician assistance.
• Evaluate and manage post-procedure care, focusing on pain management and complication prevention.
• Participate in patient and family education to ensure understanding of post-operative care.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum two years of medical/surgical nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS certification required; PALS certification within 12 months.
• Proficient in IV therapy, venipuncture, and patient care coordination.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with attention to detail.
