Senior Mortgage Lender

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Mortgage Lender to join Civista Bank. As a Senior Mortgage Lender, you will primarily focus on originating first mortgage loans, promoting the bank's lending services, and catering to the financial needs of the community. You will be responsible for engaging with referral partners and clients, ensuring compliance with regulations, and actively participating in community activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to solicit mortgage loans through referral partners and community engagements.
• Meet with customers to complete loan applications and provide necessary guidance.
• Inform clients about underwriting guidelines and applicable regulations.
• Screen loan requests, propose loan options, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Research and stay updated on legislation affecting residential lending policies.
• Communicate approval or denial decisions to stakeholders and distribute relevant market information.
• Promote special credit programs and participate in community activities to maintain relationships.
• Perform any other duties assigned to support key responsibilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of Mortgage Lending experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of banking industry practices, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent computer literacy and data entry skills.
• Initiative, accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
• Solid communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Additional Job Details

• Position involves regular engagement outside the bank premises for sales activities.
• Work may include extended computer usage and concentration in a sometimes distracting environment.
• Ability to lift and move loan files weighing up to 15 lbs.
• Some travel required for meetings, trainings, and real estate visits.
